Description
Latino Civic Alliance will host its "Latino Legislative Day” in Olympia Washington on Monday, January 22, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 4p.m. The advocacy event will be in person and free to the public and over 700 Latinos are expected to attend.
Keynote Speaker, Representative Julio Cortes and Governor Jay Inslee, Chief Justice Steve Gonzalez, Representative Lillian Ortiz- Self, Representative Bill Ramos, Representative Alex Ybarra, Representative Emily Alvarado, Representative Sharlett Mena, Senator Rebecca Saldana, and more are expected to attend.
Panelist speakers will present on Workforce Development, Gun Violence affecting youth and communities, Small Businesses, Farmworker Rights, The Dangers and Opioid/Fentanyl Epidemic Impacting Children, Lack of affordable Housing, and more.
The Special Program & Award Ceremony will start at 12:00 p.m. at the State Capital North Steps with Mount Vernon School District Mariachi Band performing, Keynote Speaker Representative Julio Cortes and Governor Inslee receiving honorary awards and 2024 Latino Legislative Civic Awards will be presented to advocates recognized for their leadership and commitment to serve.
